Description

Why manufactory 964?

For the love of the automobile, in particular the Porsche 964, we have turned our passion into a profession. The perfect combination of the classic look of the Porsche 911 with its high level of comfort and sophisticated technology has always appealed to us right from the start.

Our claim

Since we always strive to build the even better 964, it is in contrast to many other workshops a particular concern to work largely with original parts. With great pleasure and attention to detail, we restore and optimize your Porsche 964. According to our principle "Best quality without compromise", we offer the highest reliability and transparency.

Who is behind Manufaktur 964?

Hans Michael Gerischer

"Restoring and individualizing automobiles has always been my passion. The beginning was the restoration and tuning of beetles.

Over 20 years ago I bought my first 964 and the enthusiasm for this car has remained. Since 1996, I have been waiting and optimizing these automobiles on my own.

In 1995 I took part in track training for the first time and discovered another dimension of driving and screwing: the quality of work depends on one's own life - all components of the vehicle are loaded to the utmost and negligence can have devastating consequences.

This quality claim on my own performance is my personal leitmotif for the Manufacture 964. Outside of the manufactory, I dedicate myself to my passion for Porsche as part of Track Days. I regularly participate in driving courses on various circuits in my 964 Turbo, have been a member of the Pistenclub since 2002 and, since 2006, instructor of the Pistenclub for Hockenheim; Nürburgring GP and Spa. "

Jochen Dronia

"In 1992 I started as a racing mechanic at the Carrera Cup (964). In 1998 I accompanied my first 24h race with Porsche on the Nürburgring. Since then, I've been coaching Porsche teams in the VLN and various other racing series.

From 2009 to 2012, I oversaw all the pinta racing team's operations in the VLN, 24H races and ADAC GT Cup. After my master craftsman certificate, I fulfilled my dream in the year 2000 and have since been leading the Dronia sports cars with great pleasure.

The Dronia sports car is a company specialized in Porsche cars with know-how for all 911 generations from the F-model to the current models.

In addition to maintenance and optimization, we build with dedication customer vehicles for racing, which we then look after in the field.

My personal favorite, however, is the 964.

The Manufaktur 964 is a heart project for me "

Restoration, process, perfection

This only succeeds in the quality we strive for, if the standards are clearly defined! That's why we have set the course of each restoration! This restoration process always forms the minimum standard - and, of course, will be expanded or adapted according to your individualization requirements.

A racing car needs a modified body, a special engine, a racing suspension but no leather interior - of course our process has to take this into account.

It starts with checking the input state of each vehicle. This test includes the following steps:

  • Thorough cleaning exterior and interior
  • Visual inspection of the paint
  • Visual inspection of the body
  • Visual inspection of the interior
  • Functional test of all components such as air conditioning / heating, lighting control units etc.
  • test drive
  • Visual inspection of chassis / brake / engine

**The second step is dry ice blasting. This includes:    **

  • Disassembly of all underbody panels
  • Dismantling the front mask, the rear fairing and the sill panels Disassembly of all lighting elements
  • Disassemble, clean and store all disassembled panels
  • Engine, - Drain transmission oil, wash water and brake fluid    Remove engine and gearbox
  • Shipmeent to dry ice blasting

After dry ice blasting, the scope of the restoration is determined:

  • New visual inspection of the subfloor for corrosion and damage
  • Definition of the scope of the body work
  • Checking the suspension components
  • Testing of all lines (brake, fuel, oil etc.)
  • Removal of the oil tank, the oil cooler and all oil lines (lines are generally     renewed)
  • Chassis and brake components are generally overhauled or renewed

Now the preparation of the painting begins:

  • Dismantling of the interior
  • Disassembly of all discs
  • Disassembly and disassembly of all body parts such as doors, hoods, sunroof, etc.

Now the individual assemblies are spent to the respective trades:

  • Body to the body shop / painter
  • Interior for saddlery (upholstery and leather upholstery of seats and linings)
  • Fittings for overhaul
  • Depending on the defects, overhaul electronic components
  • Engine and transmission complete to Engine deartment

**While the bodywork and interior are in progress, the engine and transmission are being revised. **

We look more closely at the engine and transmission. Every detail is scrutinized by us.

Engine:

  • Disassemble the engine completely, clean all parts
  • Check crankcase, measure, if necessary, machine, if necessary, renew cylinder stud
  • Check crankshaft, measure, polish, replace if necessary
  • Check connecting rod, measure, angle, renew bearing
  • Check valve drive, intermediate shaft, timing chains, etc., measure, replace worn parts
  • camshafts; Check rocker arm, rocker arm shafts, etc., measure, replace if necessary
  • Generally overhaul cylinder heads completely
  • Check piston and cylinder, measure mostly renew
  • Check camshaft housing, chain housing, etc.
  • Measure if necessary edit / renew
  • Mount crankcase (in general, all bearings, seals, etc. are renewed)
  • Wear parts such as clutch etc. are generally renewed
  • Renew ancillaries such as starter, alternator
  • overhaul ignition distributor, renew if necessary
  • Check attachments for function, replace if necessary
  • Paint, radiate and powder coat the engine paint (damaged parts are replaced and also machined)
  • Galvanize all galvanized parts (as original)
  • Exhaust system check if necessary renew
  • Assemble engine, complete for installation

Gearbox

  • After visual inspection, disassemble for leaks.
  • Check wearing parts, replace if necessary
  • On all-wheel drive vehicles, check front differential and drive train for leaks and function, replace any worn parts or recondition components

After completion of the individual trades, assembly follows in plant 1 or plant 2 according to capacity in the following work steps:

  • Mount suspension / brake (either outdated or new components)
  • Mount oil cooling system (all lines / hoses new)
  • Completing the body with new gaskets and springs (doors, hoods, trim strips, etc.)
  • Installing the lights Check the function and insert the washers
  • Fit new carpet set and, if necessary, new roof lining and interior
  • Install engine and transmission, test run
  • Mount wheels (rims stripped, powder-coated, new tires)
  • Measure vehicle (adjust height, wheel load, lane, camber, etc.)
  • Test drive / check all functions / quality check
  •  Demonstration of the acceptance of the main investigation, if necessary registration of individualizations
  • Delivery inspection subsequently delivery

However you want to enjoy your 964, no matter if road, gentleman driver or race:

It will inspire you ... the form, the driving characteristics, the emotionality.
