- RSR recreation
- 3-litre flat six with approximately 300hp
- Built by PS Automobile with an extensive history file
Originally a 3.0 SC, this 911 has been extensively modified and converted into an incredibly capable track car. This was converted to evoke the illustrious 911 2.8 RSR by PS Automobile in Germany. A monster history file is available with this car, detailing everything about the car’s build.
Under the rear decklid the 3-litre engine has been modified with Bosch injection, dual ignition and flat side valves to produce a healthy 300hp. The clutch cylinders have been recently replaced and duraluminium engine mounts have been fitted at the rear.
The bodywork and Viper Green paint is in excellent condition, showing only minor stone chipping. The wheels are a stunning set of 3-piece BBS items which are 9.5x17 at the front and 11.5x17 at the rear. The Kumho tyres have approximately 2-3mm tread remaining.
The electrical system has been revamped with switches on the dash including a start button, fan switch, two switches for the fuel pumps, a light switch as well as an emergency stop switch. The battery connections have also been bolted in place.
The original underside protection was removed so the body could be bead blasted and then professionally treated and painted. The axle guides were also bead blasted and all chassis parts have been coated in polyethylene plastic.
Inside you’ll find an interior that gives off the perfect race car feel, with a matt black roll cage, OMP seats, a 350mm quick release Momo steering wheel, and then finished off with a lovely set of Stack gauges. The fit and finish of the modifications is excellent and it’s obvious that it has been built by professionals.
The dual-spring suspension is from H&R, with the front struts being 10mm higher to replicate the setup you’d find in a genuine RSR. The rear springs have been set up so that there’s no need to dismantle the shock absorber in order to remove them. The front uniball strut bearings have been mounted eccentrically and the 23mm uniball rear stabiliser also has uniball mounts. The steering gear, rear brakes and main brake cylinder are all from a 911 Turbo, as well as a set of modified 964 driveshafts.
The build on this car is very thorough and very professional, making this an extremely competent track car. The car is in excellent condition, with the only marks noted through our appraisal being the very light stone chipping, some stone chips to the wheels. This car is built for the track however it would need a UK MOT in order to be used on the road.
