History of the Porsche 911 2.2 S.

The Porsche 911, also known as the “nine eleven” or just the “eleven” for short, is probably the best-known Porsche sports car. The first 911 was presented at the IAA in Frankfurt am Main in 1963 as the successor to the Porsche 356 with the designation Porsche 901. The 911 is a typical 2 + 2-seater sports car. The first Porsche 911s are real men's cars. You do without power steering or brake booster. In the course of further developments at Porsche, the displacement grew from originally 2.0 liters in 1970 to 2.2 liters. Of course, Porsche also tested the sportiness and reliability at almost all major events and used them accordingly for advertising. Obviously the "World Champion 1969/70" sticker was on the windshield, which was supposed to demonstrate the new dominance of Porsche to all other road users.

In total, only 729 pieces of the 2.2 S Targa models were built. The pure data of this sports car is impressive. It was now 2195 cc, enough for 180 hp at 6400 revs in the S model. Top speed of 230 km / h according to the Auto Motor Sport test, the 0-100 sprint was completed in 7 seconds by this 1070 kg lightweight Porsche.

History of the offered Porsche 911 S 2.2 Targa

This Porsche was built in late 1969 and sold in 1970 through a Porsche dealership in Düsseldorf. Its original delivery color is "Gemini Blue Metallic" (code 8410). An official Porsche delivery information is available and confirms that this Porsche is "matching". This 911 was probably sold to France in the 1980s and only changed hands from father to son. We bought this 911 S Targa from our son through an agent. The southern French sun didn't do the paint any good, so we decided to repaint this Porsche. In the course of this, the paintwork and the brakes will also be overhauled. Before delivery to the final customer, we will of course carry out an engine inspection. This Targa is equipped with a 5-speed gearbox, ventilated disc brakes, Fuchs rims, sports seats, electric windows, contemporary radio and antenna.
