Amian Exclusive Cars is pleased to offer for sale an early Porsche 356 Pre-A 1500 Cabriolet. This exceptional vehicle was originally delivered in May 1952 through the Porsche dealership Fleischhauer in Bonn, Germany. In the years that followed, it was owned by a member of the German Bundestag and his wife.
The history of this vehicle is fully documented and verifiable. The year 1952 is regarded as one of the most significant production years of the Porsche 356 series. At the end of April 1952, Porsche gradually transitioned from the split rear window to the so-called “bent” (knick) window. Our vehicle originates precisely from this transitional period and therefore features a rare combination of existing stock components and technical innovations. This unique characteristic makes it especially desirable among collectors and Porsche enthusiasts.
The vehicle is accompanied by an extensive appraisal report, a Reutter Certificate, and a Porsche Certificate confirming its originality.
An extremely comprehensive two-year restoration was carried out with the utmost care. The objective was to preserve the original character of the vehicle as much as possible, replacing only defective or non-functional components. The original exterior and interior color combination was retained in accordance with the Reutter Certificate.
The body was completely stripped, professionally repaired and welded, repainted, and then meticulously reassembled by hand. In addition, the vehicle comes with extensive restoration documentation. More than 200 detailed photographs document and reconstruct the entire restoration process—from complete disassembly to final completion. All invoices relating to the restoration, repair work carried out, and spare parts procurement are fully available, underscoring the transparency and traceability of the work performed.
A total of only 294 Porsche 356 Pre-A Cabriolets were manufactured by Reutter, divided between the 1300 cc and 1500 cc engine variants. Today, only a very small number of Pre-A 1500 Cabriolet models remain worldwide, making this vehicle a true rarity.
