The rare Flaminia GT 2.5 Touring models were built from 1959 to 1967. The Superleggera is the second version of Lancia’s coupé from the 1960s. It was built by ‘Carrozzeria Touring’ under the GT (Gran Turismo) designation. The Touring Superleggera construction, consisting of an aluminium outer skin on a steel tube frame, enabled a weight reduction of 200 kg. In tests, the 2.5-litre version achieved acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.8 seconds. Its top speed was 180 km/h. Only 863 examples with this engine were built. The contemporary automotive press considered the Flaminia GT to be one of the best coupés, with exceptionally good road handling. At the time, it was also referred to as ‘the Ferrari of the middle class’.
This Flaminia was delivered near Geneva in 1960 and subsequently had only two more Swiss owners before the car came to Germany 11 years ago, becoming part of our client’s collection.
