Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona “Plexiglas” – Marrone Metallizzato
Amian Exclusive Cars is pleased to offer for sale an exceptional Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona in the highly desirable early Plexiglas configuration. This vehicle stands out not only for its iconic design, but also for its extremely rare factory specification: only approximately 76 examples were originally delivered in the exclusive exterior color Marrone Metallizzato (metallic brown). Of these 76 cars, only a very small number were produced from the factory in the early and particularly sought-after Plexiglas version. This combination represents a significant rarity and has a substantial positive impact on both availability and long-term value appreciation.
An official Ferrari data sheet confirms the original exterior and interior color specification, underscoring the authenticity of this vehicle. For collectors and enthusiasts of classic Ferrari icons, this Daytona represents an especially attractive and nearly unique opportunity.
In addition to its excellent current condition, the car’s history as a period race vehicle, complete with its original vehicle passport, is particularly noteworthy. As part of an extensive, no-expense-spared full restoration, countless hours of work and numerous new parts were invested over several years, always with the goal of faithfully returning the car to its original factory condition.
The engine and gearbox were professionally and comprehensively rebuilt. Special attention was paid to preserving authenticity: the mileage shown on the speedometer was deliberately retained and, as is common with many restored vehicles, was not reset to zero or replaced with a new unit. The original speedometer remains in place, lending the car a dignified and authentic patina.
Elegant details such as the refined wooden steering wheel and the classic Borani wire wheels highlight the luxurious character of this Daytona and perfectly complete its overall appearance.
The vehicle is accompanied by an extensive restoration documentation that consistently and transparently records the entire rebuild of this beautiful Daytona. This documentation includes over 300 photographs detailing each step of the restoration process, as well as all invoices relating to the five-year restoration, repair work, and parts procurement.
As the owner has decided to relocate to Switzerland at short notice, certain final finishing works were not completed by us. It should therefore be noted that a few minor finishing tasks are still outstanding. These works can be carried out upon request prior to handover. Alternatively, the new owner may acquire the vehicle in its current condition at a correspondingly reduced purchase price.
