What is Classic Trader?

  • Classic Trader is the international marketplace for classic cars. The offer of Classic Trader allows private and commercial sellers to showcase classic cars of any kind in a specialized market environment. Potential buyers, however, have the opportunity to have a much more real product experience. An almost unlimited number of large, high-resolution images and videos are supplemented by detailed technical information. The placement of information and documents on the history, condition and maintenance intervals keeps sellers from unintentional contact with uninformed buyers.
    The gradual introduction of complementary services will support both buyers and sellers increasingly.

What can I do here?

  • As a seller, you can offer your classic car or future classic for sale in a specialized market environment.
  • As potential buyer you can find your dream classic easily and quickly or simply dream just a little while browsing car advertisements.
  • As a user without direct interest in buying, you can surf freely on Classic Trader and browse car listings with high-resolution images, exact technical data and other background information, such as magazine articles.

Questions about registration & account

Do I need to register mandatorily?

Registration at Classic Trader is required for the use of the following functions:

  • Sell (including management of listings)
  • Contact seller
  • Message archive (including notifications on- and offsite)
  • Watch
  • Watchlist (including notifications on- and offsite)
  • Search requests (including notifications on- and offsite)
  • Report

All other services of Classic Trader can be used without registration.
A basic registration at Classic Trader is very straightforward and requires only your first and last name, your email address and a password.

I don't have an account yet. How can I register?

You can register quite easily on the home page of Classic Trader. Simply click on the red button "register now" and follow the instructions. Registration at Classic Trader is divided into three different user groups:

  • Basic account: Registration quoting your first and last name, an email address and password
  • Private seller: Quoting further information required for the sale
  • Dealer: Quoting further specifications required for the commercial trade

I have forgotten my password. What now?

  • If you have forgotten your password, please enter your email address in the login mask and click on the "Reset password" button. Please enter your email address on the following page named "Reset password" and click on the button "Reset Password". You will then receive an email from Classic Trader with a confirmation link to reset your password. After clicking the confirmation link, you can choose a new password on Classic Trader.

How can I change the email address that I have used for my account?

  • In your account under "Account Data" you can change your password just by clicking "Change e-mail address" and entering a new e-mail address on the following page. Confirm by clicking "Save". A new confirmation link will be sent to this address that needs to be clicked in order to confirm the new e-mail address. Your new e-mail address is now saved in our system.

Can I change my account type subsequently?

  • You can "upgrade" your account type anytime but not "downgrade" it. The path from basic account to private seller to dealer is easily possible, but not vice versa. If you wish, for special reasons, to change your account type, which is not possible through your account management, please contact us at [email protected].

What happens to my user data?

  • Detailed answers to your questions can be found in our Privacy Policy.

How can I delete my account?

  • If you really want to delete your account you can instruct the cancellation with us under [email protected].

How can I advertise my vehicle for sale?

  • If you don't have a user account (basic/ private/ dealer) at Classic Trader yet:
    • For vehicle advertising the registration as a private seller or dealer is required. Please click here if you want to register as a private seller or as a dealer. Then enter your personal information in the form and save your entry.
    • In the listing's creation you can enter the data of your vehicle for sale and post your personal listing.
  • If you already have a basic account at Classic Trader:
    • To advertise a vehicle for sale please click here.
    • Your basic account must first be upgraded to a private seller or dealer account. If you are not yet logged in, please first enter your login information for your basic account in the login field and click on the red "Sign in" button. Now select whether you want to register as a private seller or dealer. Enter your personal information in the form and save your entry.
    • Now you are in the listing creation and can enter the data of your vehicle for sale and create your listing.
  • If you already have a private seller account with Classic Trader:
    • To advertise a vehicle for sale please click here.
    • If you are not yet logged in, please enter your login details for your private seller account in the login field and click on the red "Sign in" button. Now you are in the listing creation and can enter the data of your vehicle for sale and create your listing.
  • If you already have a dealer account with Classic Trader:
    • To advertise a vehicle for sale please click here.
    • If you are not yet logged in, please enter your login details for your dealer account in the login field and click on the red "Sign in" button. Now you are in the listing creation and can enter the dates of your vehicle for sale and create your listing.

Why can't I publish my vehicle?

  • If you are still in the process of creating your listing:
    • You may not have completed all required fields in your listing. Go through the listing creation process again. Pay attention to the mandatory fields that are marked with an asterisk "*" and if necessary enter the missing data/information. If a publication of your listing ist still not possible, despite the filled mandatory fields, please contact our Customer Service.
  • If you are no longer in the listing creation process:
    • Go to your listing management and check the status of your listing.
    • If the listing is still shown as a draft, it can be identified by a yellow pylons icon, select in the listing 'select action' and 'improving listing quality'. Go through the listing creation process again. Pay attention to the mandatory fields that are marked with an asterisk "*" and if necessary, enter the missing data. If a publication of your listing ist still not possible, despite the filled mandatory fields, please contact our Customer Service.
    • It is possible that your listing is still in the review process. We make every effort to check and approve your listing as soon as possible. If you want to check the status of the review process, please contact our Customer Service.

How can I advertise my tractor, utility vehicle, trailer, boat or airplane?

  • Listing tractors, commercial vehicles, trailers, boats and planes is unfortunately not yet possible, but will be gradually integrated soon.

How can I delete my listing?

  • To delete a listing, please go to your listing management. You get there using the button at the top right: "My Account" and "Manage Listings".
    Choose the vehicle you want to delete, click on the button "Select Action" and then "Delete listing".

How do I contact a seller if I have questions about his vehicle?

  • If you still do not have a user account with Classic Trader:
    • To contact a seller, please register here with your name, your email address and your personal password for a basic account. Once you are logged in, go to the detail view of the listing that you would like to inquire about and click on the red button "Contact Seller" next to the gallery.
  • If you already have an account with Classic Trader:
    • To contact a seller, please log in first with your login information. Once you are logged in go to the detail view of the listing that you would like to inquire about and click on the red button "Contact Seller" next to the gallery.

Why do I get no results for my search?

  1. Please check the spelling of your keywords.
  2. There may be no matching listings to your search.

How can I create a search request?

  • If you still not have a user account with Classic Trader:
    • To add a search request, please register here with your name, your email address and your personal password for a basic account.
    • If you are registered, go to the home page and make your search. On the next page you can find your search results, click on the white button "Save search". Enter an individual name for your search and choose your notification setting. New search results are displayed in the top navigation bar by the yellow magnifying glass icon.
  • If you already have an account with Classic Trader:
    • To create a search request, please login first with your login information. Once you are registered, go to the home page and make your search. On the next page you can find your search results, click on the white button "Save search". Enter an individual name for your search and choose your notification setting. New search results are displayed in the top navigation bar by the yellow magnifying glass icon.

What is the watchlist and what good is it to me?

  • On the list you can save interesting vehicles. If the listings on your list are edited by the seller, this will be displayed by the yellow star icon on the top navigation bar.
