The Ferrari 365 GTC/4 is a car that, for a long time, was truly understood mainly by people who really knew it. Almost every car enthusiast knows the Daytona. The 365 GTC/4 requires a little more knowledge. And once you get to know this Ferrari, you discover one of the most refined and best-driving classic Ferraris of the early 1970s.

The 365 GTC/4 was built between 1971 and 1972 and shares much of its technical foundation with the famous 365 GTB/4 Daytona. Yet Ferrari gave it a very different character. Less overtly sports car, more grand tourer. Still low, powerful, and exceptionally fast, but with more comfort, greater flexibility, and more everyday usability. That is exactly what makes the car so appealing today.

Under the long hood lies the 4.4-liter Colombo V12, equipped with four overhead camshafts and six twin-choke Weber carburetors. Output is approximately 340 horsepower. Those are serious figures, but with this Ferrari, it is really about the way the engine delivers them. Smooth at low revs, strong through the midrange, and beautifully vocal as the tachometer climbs. A classic Ferrari V12 hardly needs an explanation. You really only need to start it.

The 365 GTC/4 came from the factory with power steering, air conditioning, and power windows as standard equipment. The entire package was therefore designed with long-distance driving in mind. As a result, this is a Ferrari that not only makes an impression when you arrive, but one you genuinely enjoy driving along the way. We have sold several of them to knowledgeable enthusiasts over the years, and they consistently confirm the same thing: this is one of the best-driving older Ferraris.

The Pininfarina design is understated and exceptionally elegant. The wedge-shaped profile, low nose with hidden headlights, fastback roofline, and distinctive black rear treatment give the car an identity all its own. It clearly shares a family resemblance with the Daytona, but feels less hard-edged and more refined. Less poster car, more gentleman’s express.

This 1972 example is in good and original condition. The car has not been over-restored and therefore retains exactly the kind of character that matters so much in a high-quality classic Ferrari. Only the interior was reupholstered in Pelle Beige, and the result is particularly successful. The light leather gives the cabin a rich, warm atmosphere and suits the character of this Ferrari beautifully.

That originality is reflected in the documentation as well. The Ferrari comes with its original books and old invoices, now somewhat faded with age. Exactly the kind of paperwork enthusiasts love to see.

Only 505 examples of the 365 GTC/4 were built. That makes it rare, but rarity is not the only reason it is interesting. Its real strength lies in the combination of exclusivity, engineering, and usability. A V12 Ferrari with Daytona DNA, a manual transmission, Pininfarina bodywork, and a driving experience that feels remarkably complete.

A Ferrari for connoisseurs. Not forgotten, but always appreciated by those who knew just how good it really was. Interested? Contact Gallery Aaldering today and discover this special Ferrari for yourself. We export our vehicles worldwide; please ask us about the possibilities.
