Lancia has a long and distinguished history in rally and endurance competition. This reputation was already established in the early nineteen fifties with the world renowned Lancia Aurelia B20, which achieved a remarkable result in the Mille Miglia. In the nineteen seventies the marque continued this tradition with several models that appeared in both international and national rally events. One of these was the Lancia Beta Coupe. Introduced in the early nineteen seventies as a sporting variant within the Lancia model range, a number of examples were prepared by the factory for competition use.

The example offered here was prepared by the Lancia Works department and was actively used in rally competition. Documentation confirms that this is one of the earliest Beta Coupes prepared by Lancia Works. It is therefore an original Group 4 Beta Coupe, which makes it a truly special car. At the time the car was sold to Scuderia Grifone, a team well known for campaigning various Lancia models in rally events. The car benefits from a documented competition history including events, drivers and results.

During the nineteen seventies this Lancia was entered in numerous rally events and was driven by several drivers, including Bruno Ferraris and Giuseppe Pippo De Stefano. In 1977 the car was sold to Roberto Beretta, who continued to campaign the Beta Coupe in rallies until 1980. Since that period the car has remained in the recognizable Beretta Lecco livery in which it competed during those years.

Visually the car has largely been preserved in the condition in which it completed its final rallies, giving it a particularly authentic appearance. We invite you to view the photographs on our website for a closer impression. Mechanically the car has been comprehensively addressed in recent years. In 2017 the car was technically rebuilt by specialist Facetti. In addition, approximately fifty thousand euros was invested in service and preparation during 2024 and 2025. It is clear that this example has received the proper attention and represents a very special and original Group 4 Lancia.

This Lancia is highly suitable for a wide range of historic rally events, including rallies that fall under the FIA European Historic Rally Championship. In 2024, for example, the car participated in the Modena Cento Ore.

Original rally cars from the nineteen seventies with documented competition history are rarely offered on the market. This example combines a factory prepared Group 4 specification, a fascinating rally past and extensive recent mechanical work.
