The BMW 3 Series... 50 years of success!!!

The E30 series was launched in 1982 as the second generation of the 3 Series. Not only its 12-year production run, but also its general popularity for various reasons make the E30 a sought-after classic today.

With the creation of the M3, the E30 generation reached its zenith.

The M3 initially served as the base vehicle for homologation in Group A and became one of the most successful racing touring cars of all time. The wheelbase was shortened by 5 mm compared to the other versions. The body features flared fenders for the improved and widened chassis with larger brakes and 5-hole hubs, and on the sedan, a rear window attachment with a flat rear window and a raised plastic trunk lid with spoiler. The body changes were in keeping with the spirit of the times and resulted in improved aerodynamics, especially on the sedan.

History

This M3 was first registered to BMW in early June 1990. The current owner bought it about two years later from the second owner. Shortly after the purchase, it was converted to a V12 from the 850 CSi. After a few years, he sold it to a BMW enthusiast. A few years ago, he had the opportunity to buy the M3 back and is now the fifth and third owner.

Since the conversion took place in the mid-1990s, there were no major discussions with the TÜV (German Technical Inspection Agency) about obtaining the H license plate, except for the astonished eyes of the TÜV inspector.

Everything has been approved and registered, such as engine power, chassis, etc.

All documents, such as the original vehicle registration document, are available.

The current fifth and third owner has been a BMW specialist and classic car restorer for over 30 years and has carried out this conversion with skill and expertise, ensuring that all components have been professionally converted or adapted. In order to present the car to the TÜV for the H license plate, all components were checked/renewed and a comprehensive service was carried out, so that there is no maintenance backlog and the E30 is fully operational. About two years ago, the M3 was repainted and the Warsteiner look was applied with foil. The paint thickness measurement shows values of 300 all around.

The recently prepared valuation report certifies a value of €124,000.

What has been modified?

The engine and 6-speed manual transmission come from an 850 CSi. The cardan shaft was custom-made. The brake system comes from an E36 M3. In addition to these major modifications, various details have been adjusted.

Market classification

E30 M3s have been increasing in value for years and now often exceed the €100,000 mark.

This E30 M3 is being offered well below its appraised value.

Conclusion

If you are looking for something special, brutal driving pleasure, or love unique cars, then this M3 is perfect for you.

Place your bid and enjoy driving a wolf in sheep's clothing.
