Description

BMW E30 M3 V12 – When Tuning Still Meant Getting Your Hands Dirty

There are cars that make you ask: Why?
And then there are cars that make you say, with reverence: Why the hell not?!

The BMW E30 M3 is already a living legend. Born to dominate the DTM, built like a scalpel on wheels. Then someone – sometime in the '90s, when techno was still taken seriously and “tuning” meant real craftsmanship – asked: Know what the M3 needs? A V12!

What came out isn’t just an M3 anymore. It’s Frankenstein. A Frankenstein with flair.

Historical Background – The Wolf is Born
The E30 launched in 1982 as BMW’s second-generation 3 Series. Sporty, compact, reliable. Then in 1986, BMW Motorsport unleashed the M3 – wider, tougher, faster. Built to destroy anything that didn’t wear a white-and-blue kidney grille.

But this one? Took that blueprint and made it... bigger. Under the hood? No more four-cylinder screamer. Instead: the 5.6-litre V12 from the BMW 850 CSi – an engine made for the Autobahn elite.

The Conversion – When TÜV Still Had a Shock Moment
Around 1993, the nearly new M3 got rebuilt. With love, skill, and guts.
Engine: 850 CSi.
Gearbox: 6-speed manual from the same donor.
Driveshaft: custom-made.
Brakes: E36 M3, because fast needs to stop.
And the best part? Fully street legal. Even TÜV approved it – and gave it a historic plate, disbelief included.

Specs? Solid as a Rock!
✅ No maintenance backlog
✅ Recent major service
✅ Professionally restored by a BMW expert
✅ New paint two years ago (Warsteiner wrap – removable)
✅ Paint readings around 300 μm – no filler nonsense
✅ Original title and documentation included
✅ Valuation report: €124,000 – officially certified

Market Value – Still a Sleeper, But Not for Long
Stock E30 M3s already start around €100,000.
This unique V12 beast? Technically priceless – and still offered below appraisal.

Conclusion – A Knife-and-Fork M3
Not for purists. Not for originality clerics.
But for those who remember the sound of a real V12. For drivers, not collectors. For tinkerers, not posers.

A V12-powered E30 M3 isn’t just a car. It’s a statement.

And if you’re not bidding – at least print a poster. It deserves it.
