Description

1930 Bentley Speed Six
Chassis Number: SB2774
Engine Number: SB2772
Reistration Number: GH8974
New to market & freshly restored to perfection. This car has over the past two years been fully rebuilt & built up as a LeMans style tourer by noted Rolls Royce & Bentley restoration expert James Black in Northern Ireland.
The car came to him as a project with the chassis already shortened from the 11'6" original to LeMans spec 11'2 1/2" size. The engine is matching the chassis as is the C type gear 'box specified & installed when new.
Overall a fabulous job has been done on the car with simply everything being fully correct & rebuilt. Great attention to detail has gone into the car preserving the original deep headed chassis bolts & painstakingly aligning the engine & drive train with millimeter perfect precision to ensure smooth vibration free running.
Self Wrapping brakes are fitted as is a LeMans style fuel tank & the car is just in the process of having the engine run in & a couple of hundred shake down miles covered. Assorted rally plaques from the 1930's though the 1950's are affixed to the dash of the car.
Brand new Michelin 700 x 21 tyres are fitted all round on the refinished wire wheels. The engine runniing twin magnetos is a work of art starting readily & pulling super hard though all the gears whilst making all the right noises though the drain pipe sized exhaust finished off with an upturned fish tail.
Lovely Marechal lamps are fitted up front & the leaf springs are painstakingly wrapped in cord. Bucket style light weight seats are installed up front upholstered in new green leather.
Simply put, this is like a brand new Speed Six Bentley being delivered 90 years late. It is a credit to the restorer & wants for nothing.
