Historic vehicle, with its roadworthiness inspection just passed, zero faults.
This year, a major overhaul was carried out, removing the engine and gearbox for inspection and work, although there had already been a previous extensive intervention in 2010. A complete dossier of the detailed work carried out, photo book, and detailed workshop and parts invoices will be provided to interested parties.
In total, more than 250 hours were invested in this overhaul, all documented.
In the engine, all wear items were renewed, such as piston rings, gaskets and sealing elements, timing chains, chain guides and hydraulic tensioners. FVD Brombacher camshafts were installed, with precision timing, and the rocker arms were replaced. All necessary accessories were also replaced while the engine was out. In the engine block, threads were restored, new studs were installed, and other mechanical elements subjected to stress were retightened to the specified torque according to the workshop manual. Cylinder liners, pistons, connecting rods and bearing shells were retained after the workshop confirmed that they were in perfect condition.
The four-speed gearbox was rebuilt with all four synchronizers, bearings, needle bearing cages and seals, incorporating a new OS Giken Super Lock limited-slip differential. New flywheel and clutch kit, as well as ring gear. Auxiliary components were also renewed, including the oil thermostat, ignition leads and spark plugs.
The underbody was cryogenically cleaned, cavity wax and stone-chip protection were applied to leave the whole assembly in the best possible condition. Guaranteed absence of rust; the surface was cleaned and treated for another 20 years.
In 2025, the four brake calipers and the brake master cylinder were rebuilt, with the fluid replaced, the system bled, and an operational test carried out.
Currently, the engine pulls very strongly, the idle is very stable, and overall operation is perfect.
930/60 engine with serial number 6790822. I have not checked the matching numbers against the chassis with Porsche
