Lamborghini Jarama 400 GT 2+2 1972

- 1 of only 176 GT versions
- Last 28 years owned by 2nd owner
- Neat original condition
- Lots of documentation + old invoices from Lamborghini

Ferruccio Lamborghini's favourite car, the Jarama. This classic 12-cylinder was produced from 1971 to 1976. Production was very scarce over the years, as only 328 were produced, of which 176 were the GT version. These were only available for the first 2 years. This was followed by the GTS or S version. The Jarama was put down by Ferruccio Lamborghini as the perfect combination between the Espada and the Miura.

The GT offered here is from 1972 and was originally delivered in Switzerland. At the time, the first owner had the major servicing carried out by the maintenance department of the Lamborghini factory in Sant'Agata. The last and current owner took it over from the first owner in 1995. 4 years before the sale to the 2nd owner, the Jarama underwent an extensive technical refurbishment at the factory. Documentation from that period is present. This includes several service invoices along with the purchase contract from the 2nd owner. This owner was director/owner of several car dealerships at the time, the Jarama's maintenance was therefore also carried out internally and regularly. In 1997, the engine was completely overhauled, including new pistons and new distribution chains. Pictures of this are available, together with a copy of the invoice. The clutch, cooling radiator and starter motor were also renewed. Since the overhaul, the car has driven around 25,000km and has been very good and reliable ever since.

The typical Italian red body colour forms a nice combination together with the red/black leather interior. The door panels concern black leather. The dashboard is surrounded by black leather, with a wooden inlay. Several gauges can be found here such as; tachometer, speedometer, voltmeter, coolant temperature, petrol gauge, oil level, etc.! The white headlining is in clean condition. The wooden steering wheel gives a nice and classic look.

Under the bonnet, there is a 3.9-litre V12 producing around 350hp at 7500rpm, along with 394nm of torque at 5500rpm. Impressive figures for its time. This engine block is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The engine runs well and shifts smoothly.

Several modern modifications have come up such as electronic ignition, along with 2 vacuum gauges, 1 for each cylinder bank. These gauges are mounted on the dashboard. When not driven, the Lamborghini has always been stored heated and covered and well maintained. Even the original on-board tools are present. The Jarama was originally delivered with air conditioning, the owner disconnected it, all the original air conditioning parts are still present.

In terms of documentation, there is the following;
- Original instruction booklet
- Parts manual & workshop manual
- Various invoices & inspections
- Various information sheets & manuals

A unique and original copy of a Lamborghini Jarama!
