Austin-Healey 3000 Mk I (BT7), year 1960.
Finished in Ice Blue Metallic with a blue leather interior and blue carpeting.
The car is fitted with a blue mohair soft top, a blue mohair tonneau cover, and a hard top finished in the body colour.
This Austin-Healey 3000 Mk I was imported into the Netherlands in 1996. This matching-numbers example was extensively restored, overhauled, and upgraded approximately 25 years ago.
In 2014, Classic Open sold this magnificent Austin-Healey 3000 Mk I to its current owner, who has enjoyed the car to the fullest ever since.
From that moment onwards, the service history has been fully documented.
The car is in very good condition and drives perfectly.
During the restoration and overhaul, the car was given a purposeful rally look through the removal of the front and rear bumpers, the addition of chrome rear bumperettes, and impressive Lucas SLR700 ‘Flamethrower’ spot lamps at the front.
Furthermore, the ride height was slightly increased at the rear to provide greater ground clearance and improved ride quality.
The big six-cylinder engine was fitted with two larger SU carburators from the Mk III, increasing power output to 150 bhp.
The original wire wheels were replaced with robust Minilite-style alloy wheels featuring attractive chrome knock-off wheel nuts.
The Austin-Healey 3000 Mk I was one of the most impressive Works rally cars of the 1960s, all examples being equipped with a hard top.
