History & Background:
The offered Porsche 356 A GS Speedster – chassis 83607 – left the Porsche factory on 12 July 1957, confirmed by correspondence with Porsche Classic. The Reutter body was originally finished in Silver Metallic, paired with a red leather interior. According to the Kardex, the car was first delivered to dealer Gerstenmaier in Baden-Baden.
Over the following decades, the vehicle lived a storied life in the USA: initially in Michigan, later from 1982 in Champaign, Illinois. In June 1991, it was acquired by the Aumann Collection from Westport Motors in St. Louis, Missouri. After being air-freighted back to Frankfurt, a meticulous restoration returned the car to its original condition.
Engine & Technical Condition:
In December 2024, the engine was inspected and optimized by the renowned specialist Karl Hloch to ensure maximum reliability. The car presents itself in excellent technical condition, with originality and authenticity fully preserved.
