The Mercedes-Benz SL (Sport Leicht) has been in production since 1954. This second-generation evolved from the 230SL to 250SL, finally becoming the 280SL. The SL improved through the years with technical innovation but still managed to keep its fundamental character and identity of an up-market, quality sports car. Its reputation went from strength to strength and it was rare to see an episode of Dallas or Dynasty in the 1980's without an SL making a star appearance.

This absolutely lovely 280 R107 Mercedes-Benz SL roadster is owned and cherished privately. Garaged when not on the road (in the dry) and taken to local shows. The paintwork and chrome is all in very good order, the wood veneers and dash are without cracks and the seats and carpets have all been individually and professionally trimmed in red and white for our vendor. MoT and Tax exempt this example is however well-maintained by our vendor, currently SORN it will be with a heavy heart that due to health reasons the car must be sold. The original book pack can be found with the history file and within the maintenance book we find that Euromotors serviced the car originally eight times all the way to 87,788 miles after which the servicing, we are informed, has been with specialists. A look under the hood tells you how well this example has been looked after, but our vendor does state that the next service he was told required a new solenoid and grommets in the gearbox. A wonderful example with the desirable hardtop of the lighter and frankly more agile 280 R107, viewing is advised to appreciate the quality of this example. Consigned by Mathew Priddy
