Sir William Lyons founded the Swallow Sidecar Company in 1922 with William Walmley. The motorbike sidecars were in high demand and quickly brought the young company success. As early as 1926, the company was building sporty, elegant bodywork for the Austin 7. William Lyons’ first car produced in-house, the SS 1, was based on a chassis from Standard. Models with 2½ and 3½ litre engines were announced as early as 1938. Following the rebranding, they were launched as the Jaguar MK IV from 1946 onwards. To bridge the gap with the larger MK VII to MK IX models, the MK I and MK II were introduced as upper-mid-range vehicles. The MK II became the epitome of a high-performance saloon.
Our Jaguar MK II 3.4 limousine comes from Sweden. In 1962, when it was built, luxury limousines like this were something quite special in Sweden. This classic car has been meticulously restored. It has been in the current owner’s possession since 2017 and is registered in Germany. This classic sports limousine is ready to drive straight away.
