General model information

The Traction Avant (front-wheel drive), also known as the 11CV, marked the beginning of Citroën's front-wheel drive models. The vehicle was first introduced in 1934 and was initially named La 7 Citroën. The inline four-cylinder engine initially produced 34 hp. However, this engine was soon replaced by more powerful versions. One of these more powerful engines is installed in our Traction. The model has an output of 56 hp and reaches a top speed of approximately 106 km/h. Due to its exceptional performance for the time, the Traction Avant quickly became very popular as a getaway car and was therefore also known as the "gangster limousine". A total of 759,123 vehicles were built between 1934 and 1957.

History/Maintenance

The vehicle has been with its current owner since 2019, who continued the complete restoration of the vehicle and completed it not too long ago. For this reason, the Citroën is in very good condition. Original parts that were still in good condition were retained, giving the car a beautiful patina.

The car has been used for occasional trips and the odd wedding.

As the current owner now lacks the time to drive it, it is looking for a new home and perhaps another use at weddings, for which it is perfectly suited.

Normal servicing work has of course been carried out regularly, regardless of the distance travelled.

Features

The features were not as lavish back then as they are today. Much more important are the special features of our model. It is a "Familiale", which means it has an additional row of seats. This means that 8 people can sit in the car, we have a longer wheelbase and one more window on each side. Only 11,323 models are said to have rolled off the production line.
