Description

A fully Coachbuilt car is very rare, even in the early nineteen sixties, and this elegant Bentley is one of those few hand made cars of the period

Coming from a long term owner - 40 years! - who has obviously lavished time, care and obviously quite a few of his hard earned pounds keeping this motor in excellent cosmetic condition, and similarly with the technical areas for she is one of the best driving versions this model which have had the pleasure using

This chaps career had been involved with organising various events for both Parlimentary elections, Party Annual Conferences, the Queens Jubilee not to mention the London Olympics - so everything including his beloved Bentley had to be "just so"

Rightly too he was Knighted for his works, just as you expect from the man of his stature in Society

Our friends at the Chelsea Workshop, no longer in Chelsea now, have been looking this car since 2012 at which point the mileage was 91.250 miles

So for the last 13 years only 3.000 miles have been completed, although a full service and MoT have been carried out each year

Purchased by the renowned Laurence Kayne of Mayfair all those years ago, this must be one of the best S3 Flying Spurs available, of which as mentioned above only 66 were ever built at which point the mileage was 75.000, so in his overall tenure 20.000 miles giving an average of 500 miles per year

During this time the car has been brought up to a standard of which he is proud - quite right too, he should be

Permanently garaged, and as he says use has been minimal, other than he has run up the engine at regular intervals to ensure all is sweet and harmonious

In the early days he would sometimes use it for the odd school run (although he had to drop the children around the corner, so as to save their embarrassment!!) Otherwise it has been used (only in good weather) for sheer enjoyment, the occasional wedding and trips to Goodwood and the Revival there too - the Duke of Richmond is a friend (of course)

He had offices in the Strand and the doorman at the Savoy Hotel allowed him to park on the entrance forecourt because it added to the prestige of this famous luxury hotel ...........

Servicing was completed on an annual basis by a Bentley mechanic & body work expert until he retired, after which as mentioned above Chelsea Workshop, who were close to his home at that time, continued the annual servicing works

He had the complete interior retrimmed by none other than Connolly Brothers who supplied to original hide to Bentley when this car was first built - can't get much better than that, can you

A modern radio is fitted with various mod-cons so that you can use your telephone & etc

An absolute cracker in our estimation and one of the best you will find
