A beautiful LHD 230SL in blue with grey MB Tex. Subject to significant high-quality restoration in recent years and ready for the next owner to enjoy.

Mrs Linda Morton of Massachusetts ordered this Pagoda on 11th December 1965. We know this as we still have the original bill of sale. This also shows that it was ordered to the specification it was ordered in today, including automatic transmission, power steering, white-wall tyres and Becker radio. It was ordered in dark blue (332) with grey MB Tex interior.

All original books and manuals come with the car. The service book shows that the car remained in the hands of the Morton family well into the 1980s and was very well maintained.

At some point in the 90s it was repainted a different shade of blue, called Bohemian Blue, but otherwise it remained original.

Imported into the UK in 2014 and purchased by the current owner in the same year.

During his eleven year ownership, he has carried extensive restoration works, predominantly with the reputed O’Keeffe Coachtrimming & Restoration. This has included a full engine rebuild in 2016 and detailed engine bay, a transmission rebuild in 2016, rebuild of the body including new floors, sills, boot floor and wings and a repaint between 2022-24, and refurbishment of the interior including new carpeting in the same period. The Bohemian Blue paintwork colour was retained during the restoration as it was such a lovely shade that suited the car. The hood was replaced in 2019. In total over £80k has been spent on restoration works over the last ten years.

As a result, this is a very pretty and very well sorted 230SL that drives beautifully and presents in excellent condition inside, outside and underneath.

In addition to its original documentation, there are extensive records of the restoration work carried out, including photographs. The original hard top also comes with the car (not pictured).

In summary, this is a fabulous Pagoda that has had the money spent in all the right places and an excellent history file. Ideal for the buyer who wants a well-sorted Pagoda that’s benefitted from passionate ownership and is ready to drive and enjoy.
