The 911’s unique personality has captivated owners, would-be owners and journalists since its career began in 1963.  Upon its release in 1989, the Porsche 964 3.6 marked the biggest change to the 911 in its 25-year history, the engineers in Stuttgart claiming that 85 per cent of the new sports car’s componentry had been revised.  Steering a 964 is intuitive, with the chassis ably coping with any twist or turn you throw at it.

The 964 provides a charming mix of classic 911 silhouette with the addition of modern touches. The Porsche 964 is a truly usable day-to-day proposition while still retaining the aesthetic and dynamic engagement prized by Porsche purists. Distinctly different in appearance to earlier cars, it was the first Porsche to be equipped with the now famous extending rear spoiler.  The engine is a 6-cylinder, 3600 cc, fuel injected, DOHC unit. The standard power output is 184 kW/250 bhp at 6,100 rpm, with peak torque figures of 310 Nm /228 lb/ft at 4,800 rpm. With the Chip Wizard upgrade that power output figure is now 307 bhp.   The Porsche 964 Carrera series has taken a while to reach the level of respect it now commands, but driving one today, it is easy to see why their popularity amongst modern classic collectors is growing; it’s an instantly invigorating experience.

Our car was originally supplied in mainland Europe to its first keeper in December 1990. The car was imported to the UK and registered in 2024. The engine and gearbox have both been completely rebuilt, along with many other new items such as rear differential slave cylinder, oil cooler temperature sensor, air intake hoses, clutch cover, and Bainbridge upgrades. A N-rated Michelin rated tyre set has also been fitted. The 964 Carrera 4 will be supplied with a fresh MOT and a 12-month comprehensive warranty.  Available to view now at our London showrooms.
