The 190SL came to the Netherlands in 1998 and was immediately completely dismantled with the intention of fully restoring it. Unfortunately, the owner at the time was unable to complete this ambitious project.
After many twists and turns, I purchased the car in 2023 in a completely dismantled state and have since extensively restored it with great dedication and craftsmanship.
The restoration was carried out as befits an icon such as the 190SL. Not a quick makeover, but a thorough restoration in which the technology, bodywork and interior were addressed in detail. The soft top is new, but the hardtop is not included.
The result is a beautiful, driving 190SL that is ready for many enjoyable miles and concours visits.
Improvements expertly installed by me for ease of use and reliability include:
- Central door locking
- Battery cut-off switch
- Electric fuel pump (with hidden switch) for easy starting after extended periods of standing still, and perfect as additional theft protection.
