The Mercedes-Benz E50 AMG may well be one of the most underrated AMG models ever built. It is a relatively discreet sports saloon with a hand-built V8 engine, rear-wheel drive and all the characteristic AMG features. The model was produced only during 1996 and 1997, with total production estimated at just around 2,870 examples. The E50 AMG is one of the last hand-built AMGs, produced before AMG was fully integrated into Mercedes-Benz production.

Beneath the bonnet lies the legendary 5.0-litre M119 V8, a naturally aspirated DOHC engine with four valves per cylinder. AMG increased the output to approximately 347 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque. This engine is widely regarded as one of the finest V8s Mercedes-Benz ever built: powerful, exceptionally smooth and highly durable when properly maintained. The E50 AMG accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.2 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.

This E50 AMG was originally delivered in Japan and, complete with COC documents, has been registered in the Netherlands since 2020. The Brilliant Silver Metallic paintwork and luxurious black leather interior are both in excellent condition, confirming that the car has seen only limited use, as reflected by its odometer reading of 89,952 km. The wood trim is also free from cracks or splits. Remarkably for a W210, the car is completely free of rust—a clear advantage of its Japanese origin. As a result, it is a superb grand touring car while also being an excellent addition to a discerning collection.

Well-preserved, original examples have become increasingly sought after by collectors in recent years. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a rare W210 AMG powered by the highly desirable M119 engine.
