BMW E9 for Sale – Rare 1975 BMW 3.0 CSi Offered Here

This 1975 BMW 3.0 CSi left the factory on December 2, 1975, as one of the final 55 E9 units ever produced. Finished in its original Polaris Silver exterior with Marineblau interior, it was equipped with the highly desirable five-speed manual gearbox. The car was delivered new on December 11 through BMW AT, where it remained until 2022.

Over its lifetime, the car has had approximately four owners. The last owner acquired it in 1984 and began a restoration in 2015, which remained incomplete until recently. This 1975 BMW 3.0 CSi underwent a complete water blasting process and extensive body restoration, with many panels replaced—particularly in the areas traditionally prone to corrosion on preserved E9 models. The body has been refinished in its original Polaris Silver 060.

All stainless steel components have been polished, iron parts have been re-chromed, and the interior—largely original—has been preserved in excellent condition, retaining the distinctive details typical of late-production models. The wood trim has been fully restored, and the electrical system has been completely overhauled.

Fully Rebuilt Mechanical Components

This 1975 BMW 3.0 CSi for sale has undergone a comprehensive mechanical overhaul to ensure outstanding reliability and driving performance. Its original 3003 cc engine still retains the factory pistons, which show no signs of wear and remain in exceptional condition.

The engine has benefited from a complete rebuild of critical components, including:

  • Connecting rods

  • Piston rings

  • Bearings

  • Timing chain

  • Oil pump

  • Bushings and related internal components

The cylinder head has also been fully refurbished, with new valve seats and valves installed. Naturally, all gaskets have been replaced to ensure perfect sealing and optimal performance.

Every detail of the mechanical restoration makes this 1975 BMW 3.0 CSi a true turn-key classic, ready for both driving enjoyment and serious collecting.

Restored D-Jetronic Injection and Chassis

As part of the full restoration, particular attention was given to the D-Jetronic fuel injection system, which has been fitted with entirely new components, including:

  • New fuel pump with accumulator

  • Pressure regulator calibrated to maintain 2.2 bar constant pressure

  • Complete set of six latest-generation injectors for precise fuel delivery

Both the front and rear axles have been fully rebuilt, including replacement of shock absorber bushings and differential bearings. This example is also equipped with a limited-slip differential, enhancing driving dynamics.

The entire braking system has been refurbished, with:

  • Reconditioned brake calipers

  • New cylinders

  • New seals and hoses

Additionally, the brake master cylinder, clutch master cylinder, and brake booster—an updated version specific to the 1975 model—have all been restored according to factory specifications.

Highly Desirable Specification

Second only to the legendary BMW 3.0 CSL in terms of performance and exclusivity, the 1975 BMW 3.0 CSi stands out as one of the most desirable E9 variants among collectors.

Its striking Polaris Silver / Marineblau color combination, paired with the sought-after manual gearbox, makes this example particularly appealing to discerning enthusiasts.

The car features several rare and valuable options, including a fully rebuilt Getrag 262 five-speed transmission, delivering a smooth and relaxed driving experience even at highway speeds.

The original air-conditioning system has also been completely rebuilt, featuring:

  • A new rotary compressor

  • New filters and hoses

  • Vent air temperature below 8°C, ensuring excellent cooling performance.
