A Jaguar E-type roadster in its pure, original form is something very special – an automotive icon. This one, supplied new to Jaguar Cars in New York, is factory left-hand drive.
Our car number ‘313 of less than 500 OBL cars ever made during the first five months of production in 1961 The most desirable of the production e-types 313 has benefitted from a full top level 100-point nut and bolt, no expense spared concours restoration by the leading e-type marque expert resulting in a world class, show stopping result. Every single nut, bolt and washer has been painstakingly refinished and replated to ensure 313 is the best of the best.
Early 1961 E-type OBL cars have over 50 unique features not seen on later 61 cars, a pain staking professional restoration has retained all of these unique features and the car is presented with a thorough history of these works with in excess of 200 images detailing these.
313 retains all the important attributes of a very early E-type including: flat footwell floors, bonnet locks secured with a T-key, welded-in bonnet louvres made from separate metal pieces, a double-hinged boot lid and wing baffles spot-welded inside the bonnet, larger half shafts, and a unique rear bulkhead to the monocoque and boot floor.
These and another 50+ features are unique to early OBL cars and all feature on ‘313 as does the original chassis plate and body tag further adding to the cars desirability and provenance.
The Gunmetal metallic paint is finished to flawless perfection and complemented with Connolly red leather interior.
A black mohair hood completes the fabulous colour scheme.
‘313 is deserving of a place on the lawns at any top tier concours d’elegance and amongst the finest car collections anywhere in the world.
