The car was produced in December 1970 and ran on January 4, 1971, as the third car of this type from the production line in Stuttgart, Germany. The nickname of the car is R-107 or "the old lady" as we affectionately call her.
The car has a V-8 engine with 200 hp, power steering and automatic 4-speed gearbox. The car runs on 98 gasoline with lead replacement. We didn't have the engine changed to unleaded gasoline to keep it as original as possible.
The car was ordered for delivery in Spain where the owner lived at the time. The car has made a number of wanderings and eventually ended up back in the Netherlands via America and France. The car is a family property and is very dear to us. The car has always been inside and is therefore rust-free.
A lot has been done to the car. In addition to regular maintenance, the seats have been reupholstered and a new soft hood has been put on it. New exhaust, recently new battery and in 2021 tectylated. The hard top comes with the car and is also in impeccable condition.
The car that celebrated its 50E anniversary in 2020 drives great. Unbelievable, so much pulling power after all these years. Wonderful as the nose rises a bit when accelerating and the somewhat slurping sound. When a door is closed, it sounds like a safe. Back then, real quality was still being made.
