Beschreibung

1935 Rolls Royce 20/25 Park Ward Four Light sports saloon

Chassis number:GYH48

Registration Number: CMP203

Just three owners from new & with the last owner for close to 4 decades.  This wonderful late model 20/25 has continuous known history from new & bills dating back into the 1950s under the tenure of its second owner.  The current owner purchased it with just 40,834 indicated & warranted miles from new as the car had been laid up for many years in a garage near his house.  He had known about the car for years & finally managed to buy it in the 1980s.

The current & third owner set about restoring the car to its former glory & has done a magnificent job.  During his ownership the car has covered a scant 4000 or so miles bringing the total covered to date to 44683 miles.  New leather of very, very high quality was sourced for the front seats & door cards & is in like new order.  The rear was retrimmed at vast expense in Bedford Cord to the seats & West of England cloth to the headlining along with Wilton carpets fore & aft under foot.

An engineer at heart, the current owner also dis-assembled the car & rebuilt it mechanically to a fastidious standard.  When not in use, the built in jacking system is employed to keep the wheels off the ground.  The original cases as supplied by Park Ward come with the car & fit in the boot perfectly.  All woodwork has also been removed & refinished to as new condition.

The car comes with a mass of early service bills dating back to 1951.  The original owners handbook also comes with the car.  It starts instantly & runs in silence.  A stainless steel exhaust was fitted as part of the renovation process.  The owner, is a fastidious man for whom nothing less than perfection is required.  This is reflected in the amazing condition of the car which simply wants for nothing.

The car was rewired using original specification cable re. size, colour etc, and complete with an inbuilt battery charging/conditioning system for long-term storage. The car is installed with a flasher system within the front side lights and modern MOT standard lamps to the rear. An "as fitted" wiring diagram is in the tech. file along with a large number of MOTs and Tax Discs.

The car is spacious to the rear with the new upholstery in the back only having been sat on once by a bride for a friend's wedding. It is always protected by a dust sheet when not in use. The car is equipped with a division but unlike some there is ample room up front for taller drivers such as myself.  Under the bonnet the engine bay is highly detailed with all sorts of little details such as a hand sewn leather cover for the autovac.  All large tools are present & have been powder coated to give them an as new appearance.  The underside of the car is also perfect & as good as any I have seen.  A full set of pictures come with the car detailing the extensive works that have been done to it over the years.

The car shares garage space, which is insulated and heated, with a pair of equally immaculate Wolseleys.  The current owner who retired in his 40s with time on his hands has taken great pleasure in getting his car into perfect order & the next owner of GYH48 will end up being the recipient of his talent & largesse.  The car is run every month & taken out for very occasional local outings.

We will be fully photographing the car at a later date as it was inclement on the day we visited & we did not have the heart to take the car out in less than perfect conditions.  If you are looking for a low mile perfect condition car then this one is very well worth a look as it is way, way above average.
