Description

Not only is this the iconic combination of the Egli frame paired with a Vincent engine, it is also the very first 1200cc Egli-Vincent to be build by well-respected Engineer John Mossey of JMC with the head steady plate bearing the number stamping JMC 0101. This is confirmed in writing by John Mossey.

John Mossey has been building superb, Vincent engined specials, Norvin and Egli-Vincent, for nearly two decades now and is the only official UK builder of this iconic Café Racer first created by Swiss Fritz Egli in 1966/1967.

The Egli-Vincent would bring a new lease of life for the Vincent engine, especially for fast roadwork and racing in the 1960s and 1970s.

Fritz Egli took the Swiss Hill Climb Championship Title in 1968 mounted on an Egli-Vincent and in the subsequent years he convincingly took the title in 1969, 1970 and 1971 with other riders mounted on the Egli-Vincent.

This Egli-Vincent is in superb condition throughout with a build quality that is second to none. Build in 2012 using a newly produced Vincent engine housed in a Egli replica frame build to the specification of John Mossey.

The electric start is effortless to use and brings the beast to life literally on the button.

A Smiths 5inch Black Shadow speedo and additional Smiths rev counter completes the cockpit at the front together with fully adjustable clip-ons.

Two front cylinder heads are fitted, exactly as on the Vincent Black Lightning, positioning both carburetors on the left side.

The original black and gold lined JMC petrol tank in alloy and the battery/side covers are currently fitted together with a touring seat.

The original John Mossey seat and mudguards in glass fibre and the signature John Mossey Hydroformed silencer and two-into one exhaust pipes as well as the spare Egli-Vincent “banana” alloy petrol tank and Egli racer seat all come with the bike as can be seen in the photos.

Owned and ridden regularly by its engineer owner since 2015, the Egli-Vincent is ready to be enjoyed on the road.

The Egli-Vincent is registered as a 1966 model with current EU registration documents and comes with aforementioned spares.
