The BMW R 90 S with a two-cylinder, four-stroke boxer engine has a displacement of 898 cm³ and 49 kW (67 hp).

It was the top-of-the-range model.

The R 90 S was the first production motorcycle in the world to feature a sleek, handlebar-mounted cockpit fairing made of glass fiber reinforced plastic and a rear spoiler. It was initially only available in smoke silver as standard, with Daytona orange added to the range in 1975.

The R90S is still a popular touring bike today, and originals are no longer easy to find.

This R 90 S was first registered on July 16, 1975, in Daytona Orange and is in collector's condition and fully operational.

In the spring of 2025, the last major service was carried out and the carburetor, including all gaskets, was also overhauled.

During our test ride, it started immediately and maintained its idle speed shortly thereafter.

In August, it passed its MOT inspection without any problems, valid until August 2027.
