This superb Saab Sonett was delivered new in the United States and later imported into the Netherlands, where it underwent restoration.

The Saab Sonett is an ultra light, aerodynamic sports car designed by Ragnar Håkansson and styled by Sixten Sason, built around a glass fibre reinforced plastic body on a light steel chassis with front wheel drive. It was conceived for the American SCCA Production racing classes (H and F), and several examples did compete in regional SCCA events, earning a reputation for impressive effectiveness thanks to their low weight and excellent traction.

The Sonett became far more of a niche road car than a regular sight on American circuits.

With only 1,610 examples produced, the Saab Sonett II is a rare machine, and this car is number 1373. It is powered by the reliable 1500 cc Ford V4 engine delivering 65 horsepower.

A delightful detail is the factory fitted roll bar in the interior.

This Saab is in very good and attractive condition, showing only minimal signs of previous use.

The interior is surprisingly spacious, with a splendid layout that offers a sporty yet comfortable driving experience. In the interior you will find a period correct 1969 Blaupunkt Dortmund radio with two speakers fitted.
