Description

1948 Bentley W.O. Style Mark VI special.
Chassis Number: B149CD
Registration Number: MZ1598
A beautifully constructed special finished 4 years ago & built at the behest of a long time onwer of multiple W.O. Cricklewood Bentleys as his last car. At the age of 83 he now wishes to relinquish ownership.
The car is built on a mark VI chassis which was fully stripped, bead blasted, primed & painted. The engine had a full rebuild which included resleeving the cylinders & increasing the capacity to 4.5 litres. At the same time a bunch of Bananas style free flowing exhaust was fabricated to give the car better perfomance. The work was completed by noted Bentley engine specialist Gary Bretherton who detailed the works undertaken in the history file.
The body is constructed on a traditional ash frame & covered in green fabric. To the interior is new green leather in the manner of typical vintage Bentleys. A full length split tonneau cover comes with the car which may be used with either hood up or down.
Great attention was given to the dash with a traditional turned aluminium finish & the usual requisite W.O. Instrumentation along with suitable switch gear. The front of the car is adorned with a beautiful pair of french Marechal headlights. The Helmet style wings are coach painted in the traditional manner & the bonnet left in bare aluminium. Correct sized 21" wire wheels are fitted all round shod with nearly new Blockley tyres.
Great credit should be given to the owner for constructiing such a convincing special. It has the looks & feel of Cricklewood Bentley but has modern braking, steering suspension & bullet proof mark VI engine which is a paragon of reliability. The whole ensemble allows for worry free vintage motoring with no dramas.
The car is in Dorset available for immediate viewings but will in due course be coming to our showrooms.
