Description

This stunning MGC GT has been the subject of a major program of upgrades and restoration, the aim being to create a high performance ultra-reliable long distance European Classic touring car. Although the project was fully completed, ill health meant the owner was unable to use it for the intended purpose. Purchased in 2021 in Cornwall, the car had benefited from a body restoration including many new heritage panels including wings, lower rear wings, sills and both front and rear valances. It was then fully repainted. The specification is impressive and includes triple Weber twin-choke carburettors, properly set up and tuned, new brake servo, new discs, brake callipers and ‘green stuff' pads, braided hoses, copper brake pipes, rears cylinders, reconditioned steering rack, stainless steel tubular exhaust manifold and full SS exhaust system, Luminition electronic ignition, telescopic rear shocks, new chrome wire wheels with Avon tyres, upgraded anti-roll bar plus front Gas shocks, new internal fuel pump, MGOC inertia reel seat belts, Kenlowe electric fan, Wipac Quadoptic split beam headlamps, and LED daytime running lights. A detachable steering wheel has also been fitted.

During 2023 all interior trim was replaced and a custom full length rear load deck was manufactured with anchor points for luggage. The original rear seat base is also included. Mech-Spec seats with head restraints were purchased to fit the existing runners and were beautifully trimmed in tan leather. An interior trim kit was purchased. Door cards, footwell panels and rear window panels were all trimmed in matching vinyl and a high quality Danbury carpet set was fitted. The MGC is equipped for regularity events and has both a fire suppression system and a battery isolator for the twin-battery system. On the road this is a taut and lusty performer. With these expensive upgrades, an overdrive MGCGT makes for a superb touring car. This is a unique C not to be missed. The car comes with a good history file, some spares and an MGC brochure
