This car is sensationally documented and original! It was first delivered on 24.02.1970 to Mr. Lindner from Gersthofen. Mr. Lindner kept the car until June 1981 when it was purchased and registered by Mr. Manfred Gerstmayer from Günzburg. Mr. Gerstmayer sold the car in 2004 to Mr. Wilhelm, who sold it again in 2016 to the current Forster family in Bavaria. The history of the vehicle can be clearly documented by the entries in the old and original vehicle documents.

The convertible currently shows 30,000 kilometres on the speedometer - based on the available documents, it can be seen that the car has run 230,000 kilometres in its life to date. The mileage may seem a bit high now - but in combination with the condition it speaks for a technically very good car.

The car has always been technically maintained and cared for, and still runs smoothly and well today. The convertible is sensationally original. It has only been repainted in its original colour, dark green. The leather is still the original and is in a fantastic patinated condition. The on-board folder is complete and original - even the original data card is present in duplicate. Such documentation and maintenance clearly speaks to the fact that the 3 previous owners have pedantically maintained the convertible.

The convertible has excellent substance, no signs of rust and is virtually unwelded. A first-class car for collectors and drivers - the vehicle convinces from all angles and directions.

History of the series

The Mercedes 280 SE 3.5 was always described as the top model of the W 111 series, which was produced between 1959 and 1971. Both the convertible and the coupé are top class vehicles with style and elegance.

It took ten years before a V8 engine was installed in the W 111 series. With its 3499 cm³ displacement, this engine put an astonishing 200 hp on the road at the time. However, the car was not only technically optimised, but also visually. The front section was given a flatter bonnet and a lower radiator grille - which also gave rise to the designations "high & flat radiator".

The flat radiators (and thus also our W 111) are considered the most desirable variant today. Of course, these vehicles are also particularly valuable because of their low number of units. Just 1,232 of the 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet were produced and delivered between 1969 and 1971.

The vehicle is located in our showroom in Stuttgart-Plieningen, near the airport/trade fair. A test drive incl. viewing on the stage are possible by arrangement.
