Description

This striking 1957 Chevrolet 3100 “Task Force” pickup represents a rare and beautifully executed custom flatbed example, restored to an exceptional standard and enhanced with sympathetic modern upgrades.

Originally a working vehicle in Nashville, Tennessee, the truck was subject to a comprehensive “nut-and-bolt” restoration in Dallas, Texas, commencing in 2015. The result is a show-winning example, recognised in both the United States and the UK, and notably featured on the cover of Chevy Truck Magazine in 2015. Imported to the UK in 2019, it has since been maintained as a high-quality show vehicle.

Finished in an eye-catching Turquoise, this desirable “Big Back Window” model is complemented by a bespoke hardwood stake-bed with polished stainless steel strips. The exterior retains the defining characteristics of the Task Force series, including the distinctive “eyebrow” headlamps and prominent chrome grille.

Power is provided by a 350ci (5.7-litre) Chevrolet “Ramjet” fuel-injected V8 engine, producing in excess of 350bhp, coupled to a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission with towing specification. The truck benefits from a custom twin exhaust system and upgraded disc brakes, offering improved drivability and performance.

The interior has been retrimmed to a high standard, featuring leather upholstery, matching headlining, quality carpeting, a period-style tilt steering wheel, electric windows, and vintage-style air conditioning. The dashboard retains its original design while incorporating updated instrumentation.

Showing approximately 10,900 miles since restoration, this example presents superbly throughout.

Consigned by the vendor, this Chevrolet is offered with a history file including a Texas Certificate of Title and period magazine feature. UK registered, it is exempt from both road tax and MOT requirements.

A rare opportunity to acquire a highly collectible and versatile example of American automotive history, equally suited to show use or touring. Consigned by Baljit Singh
