Description

1929 Rolls Royce Phantom 1 H. J. Mulliner Weyman Faux Cabriolet
Chassis Number: 10R
Registration Number: UV1923
Purchased in 1934 as used car by the current family. The late owner rode in the car as an unborn child entering this world in 1935 when the car was just 6 years old. During the war a hole was knocked into the Barn Adjourning the house & the car put up on blocks for the duration of hostilites not emerging until 1946.
This is a very lovely car with a wonderfully original feel to the interior & also the driving experience. Originally black, the car was recovered in dark blue fabric a few decades ago. A new cylinder head was also fitted in the recent past. The late owner, an enthusiast & 20 Ghost club member maintained the car himself & did a wonderful job of it. After standing unused for 2 years the car fired up instantly.
The interior is in time warp condition with wonderful original leather throughout excpt fo the drivers seat base that has been recovered in suitable lether to match the original. The whole interior has a charming & unspoilt feel to it. Body Number is 3667 accorting to the stamped numbers on the timbers under the front seats.
The car comes with its original handbook stamped with the chassis number & also its original buff log book. There is a newspaper cutting showing the car in Leningrad along with 5 other Rolls Royce cars on a 20 ghost club tour.
Rarely do we get such original cars with such great provenance.
