Description

The origins of this coach builder in particular originally came from Park Ward of Willesden in London, a Rolls-Royce subsidiary since the 1930s and H.J. Mulliner &Co. of Chiswick. In fact, Mulliner Park Ward continues to operate as a division of Bentley Motors to this day. This rare &unusual example of two-door luxury was produced for just four years between 1967 and 1971 before it was renamed the Corniche which was, in fact, a later model. Hand-built in London, just 505 examples were produced featuring a complex hydraulic, self-levelling suspension and naturally high-quality craftsmanship, something that Rolls-Royce has always been well known for. Power, initially, came through a 6.25 litre, V8 engine to a three-speed automatic gearbox with disc-brakes all round. So desirable, if fact, were these that they were often favoured by celebrities such as Muhammad Ali.

Little is known of the early history of this car aside from the fact that it originally came from Los Angeles but more recently a private collection in the Middle East. It was imported earlier this year with all duties paid as seen by the accompanying documents. It is supplied with a new UK V5C registration document as well as full construction records and copies of the original heritage certificates courtesy of the Rolls-Royce Owner's Club. At some stage recently, this car has undergone some restoration, the 'Porcelain White' paintwork is in good order throughout and the interior has been re-trimmed with a contrasting good quality blue leather.

The fully functioning electric roof also matches the interior and presents in a mid-blue vinyl. To each corner, all wheels and tyres are in good condition with tread tested and found to be well within limits. The chrome bumpers and trim are also all in very good condition throughout. The dash benefits from a full complement of dials with no deterioration within the woodwork including the steering wheel. Radio 4 comes curtesy of a modern JVC head-end with speakers surreptitiously dotted around the interior. With little recent paperwork to speak of, this represents a perfect opportunity to begin a new life. Consigned by Edward Bridger-Stille
