2012 | Bentley Mulsanne

In 2010, the Mulsanne was introduced in Crewe to replace the aging Arnage.

Bentley's new flagship rides on a new platform exclusive to Bentley, is even a bit longer than the Arnage, is supremely comfortable. At this level, rubberized surfaces and plastics get replaced by wood, stainless steel, and leather. Bentley employs craftmen patient enough to spend hours working on one piece of of wood trim for the doors.

Its engine is all-new and innovating as well. Under the hood sits a Bentley standard 6,75-liter V-8 with twin turbochargers strapped on for good measure. The engine delivers more than 500 horsepower with 752 pound-feet of torque. So much torque compared to horsepower is necessary as the Mulsanne weighs at about 3 tons. The massive torque moves the Mulsanne's 3 tons almost effortlessly. 

The body of the Mulsanne is pretty striking in itself and timeless. With this body and coachwork the Mulsanne should remain solid through many, many years.

Passengers, close your eyes at 120km/H and you might honestly believe the car is stationary. The Mulsanne has that peculiar advantage of taking the driver in kind of serenity without isolating him from the driving experience and pleasure.
