Description
The English name Daimler is as old as the British car industry. The company was founded in 1896, initially selling German Daimler cars and then producing them under licence. The focus was on luxurious passenger cars and robust commercial vehicles. For decades, the British royal family drove the fine Daimler cars. Daimler was taken over by Jaguar in 1960. It was realised that the V8 engine was superior to the small Jaguar engine with a displacement of 2.4 litres. The Jaguar MK II was therefore also offered as the Daimler 250-V8. Daimler was always a little finer, more expensive and rarer.
Our Daimler 250-V8 as a left-hand drive with overdrive is very rare and sensationally original. Delivered in Genoa, the limousine went to its 2nd owner in Bosnia after 20 years and is now driving in Germany. The front seats show some weaknesses, the paintwork is largely original. The clutch, overdrive, steering, carburettor, radiator and fuel pump have been overhauled or replaced. This classic car is agile and a lot of fun to drive. It is original, high quality and has a lot of charisma!
