This Impala Sport Coupe from 1958 is in very beautiful and original condition! 1958 was the first year for the Impala and is quickly recognizable by the low roofline and the triple taillights. A very popular model among connoisseurs and enthusiasts, which is nowadays more highly valued than the ’55-’56-’57 Bel Airs because of its unique styling and rarity.
This example comes from Germany and is largely unrestored with a solid body, frame and floorpans. Repainted in the past in the original color 'Snowcrest White' (936A). The interior is executed in 'Gray, Black and Turquoise' (836), is completely original. The tube radio has been converted to FM. Chrome is original and very good, the stainless steel moldings are in fine condition. Engine and trunk compartment are nice. Equipped with the 'Super Turbo-Fire V-8' and 'Powerglide' automatic transmission. This small-block V-8 (DF suffix code) has a capacity of 283 cu.i. (4,638 cc) and delivers 230 hp thanks to the 4-barrel carbs. Basically the same engine as in the '58 Corvettes. Thanks to new, large mufflers and new exhaust manifold gaskets, a nice, modest V-8 sound as it should be. The automatic gearbox fits in well with the Impala's character and the optional power brakes and power steering complete the ultimate cruiser picture. We have installed new radial tires -with correct white sidewalls- which improves the handling 100% compared to the original diagonal tire. All in all a super nice Chevrolet to drive. Recently major service carried out, invoices present. Dutch registration.
