First offered in 1962 as Maseratis new flagship, the Sebring was named in honor of the Bolognese manufacturers 1957 triumph at the 12 Hours of Sebring and aimed directly at American buyers. Power was initially delivered by a race-derived DOHC 3.5-liter, 235 hp inline six-cylinder engine, and soon uprated to 3.7 liters with 10 additional horsepower.

This Sebring is a highly desirable later-production Series II example, and the 113th built of the 247 Series II production run. Further, it is the 44th of the 130 ultimate-specification 3.7-liter cars built. Ordered in December 1965 and completed in March 1966, this Series II was originally finished in Celeste Blue over red leather, and was presented at the 1966 Barcelona Motor Show, according to copies of factory records on file. Built with a ZF five-speed gearbox, this Sebring was later converted from the oft-problematic Lucas fuel injection to three sidedraft Weber carburetors. Known provenance includes ownership in the UK during the late 1990s, and then a US-based owner in 2005, before being acquired by the current owner in 2018. Exceedingly charismatic, with a well-preserved restoration performed in its current livery while still in Europe, this rare Maserati Sebring is accompanied by its Maserati Certificate of Origin, classiche correspondence, service records, a copy of the factory user and maintenance manual, and a factory brochure copy. Its 3.7-liter power and timeless Michelotti styling make it an astute choice for todays driving events.
