The seller offers for sale this 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback, extensively rebuilt and re-engineered with the powertrain and comfort features of a 2006 Ford Mustang GT. This custom project combines classic American muscle car design with modern performance and daily usability. Beneath its vintage silhouette lies a 4.6-liter V8 engine, paired to a five-speed automatic gearbox with Overdrive. The build includes upgraded rack-and-pinion steering, four-wheel disc brakes, and air-adjustable rear suspension to offer a smooth, responsive ride.

With just 8,000 km since completion, the car is ready for road use. It comes equipped with air conditioning, electric windows, electric trunk lock, remote central locking, cruise control, daytime running lights, and Bluetooth hands-free with wireless phone charging. It is built to meet modern expectations for comfort and reliability while maintaining the raw aesthetic of the original Mustang Fastback. New Michelin tyres complete the setup. The car is registered in Hungary and comes with European documentation.

Cosmetically, the Mustang presents in good condition. The exterior paint has been applied on a pure metal base using a factory pattern, giving it a clean, like-new appearance. According to the seller, no paint correction or bodywork is needed.

The interior has been redesigned and constructed entirely anew, blending originality with tailored customisation. The dashboard is a genuine Shelby unit, with laminated wood inserts finished in matte varnish. The modernised cabin integrates various controls for the electronic features, such as O/D indicators, climate control, and cruise control switches embedded into the steering wheel. The electric driver's seat and window lift are seamlessly incorporated, delivering a refined, retro-modern interior aesthetic. Components are intact, functional, and do not require replacement.

This Mustang represents a rare example of classic American muscle meeting modern drivability. While many restomod builds focus on aesthetics or speed alone, this example stands out for its thoughtful engineering and full integration of features suited to today’s motoring expectations. The choice of a 2006 GT drivetrain ensures reliability and parts availability, while the original 1969 Fastback body—arguably one of the most iconic muscle car designs ever produced—preserves its collectible appeal.

Originally designed under the leadership of Lee Iacocca, the first-generation Ford Mustang revolutionised the automobile market upon its debut in 1964. By the time the 1969 model rolled out, the Mustang had grown in size and attitude. With more aggressive styling, quad headlights, and a sleeker roofline, the 1969 Fastback became a symbol of raw power and individuality. It gained global fame through pop culture appearances, most notably in films like Bullitt and Gone in 60 Seconds, which cemented its status as a legend of the American road.

What makes this car particularly significant is its fusion of heritage and high usability. Unlike many fully restored muscle cars that are best suited for show garages, this Mustang was designed to be driven. With modern safety and comfort systems, it is not only ready for weekend outings but can even be used as a dependable daily driver if desired. Its rarity as a one-off configuration further adds to its appeal for collectors who appreciate craftsmanship and originality without sacrificing comfort or practicality.
