This very early example of the 356 1300 Coupé was delivered and registered on 12.10.1951 at the Swiss Volkswagen and Porsche dealer Neue AMAG (Automobil- und Motoren AG) in Bad Schinznach in the colour radium green (510).
In August 1960, the vehicle changed hands for the first time, but continued to remain in Switzerland. In 2011, the vehicle was sold to Italy and parked in a collection. During this time, an extensive restoration of the vehicle was carried out in Italy.
After three years, the car changed hands for the last time until today and has since been owned by a car enthusiast in Germany. There is also an expert report on the vehicle from this year. In 2014, the original unsynchronised gearbox was exchanged for a synchronised NOS gearbox. However, the original gearbox is included with the vehicle.
As part of the restoration, the vehicle was completely dismantled, except for the body shell, and all corrosion was removed. Afterwards the body was completely painted in the original colour radium green. The underside of the vehicle is painted black - as in its original condition. All chrome parts have also been completely refinished and chrome-plated. All rubber seals were also renewed as part of the restoration.
The electrical system has also been completely overhauled. New cables were laid, the lighting parts were reworked and partly replaced by replicas. The very rare Veigel instruments (speedometer and rev counter) have also been completely overhauled.
The interior of the vehicle was also completely reworked. The covers used for the door panels, seat trim and carpeting correspond to the original of the vehicle. The original wood trim on the windows was sanded and painted to a high gloss.
The mechanical part of the vehicle was also disassembled as part of the restoration. The axles have been completely overhauled, the axle parts have been painted as individual parts, all wear parts have been replaced and four new Koni shock absorbers have been fitted. The brake system was also completely disassembled. New brake lines have been installed - with new brake and master cylinders, new pads and reworked brake drums. The engine is the original Type 506 and therefore a 1300 engine, which was only used in this type designation by Porsche in the period 1951-1952.
The car can be viewed by appointment at any time at our premises in 33415 Verl. A lifting platform is of course available for this purpose.
