According to its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this 1965 Porsche 356 SC Cabriolet was completed for the German domestic market and originally finished in Irish Grün over black leather upholstery.

Following an earlier period in Germany, the car was acquired in the Canary Islands during the 1990s, where it underwent an initial restoration. During this period, its original engine was reportedly replaced due to deterioration with a correct-type 1965 KD-series unit closely matching the factory specification and numbering sequence.

Acquired by Giro Classico in 2017 as a complete restoration project, the Porsche subsequently underwent a comprehensive nut-and-bolt restoration. The body was fully disassembled and chemically stripped to bare metal before extensive metalwork was undertaken, with particular attention paid to retaining the integrity of the original structure. Importantly, the doors, lids and bonnet retain their correct matching body numbers.

The mechanical restoration was equally thorough, encompassing the drivetrain, gearbox, suspension, braking system and rolling chassis components, together with the installation of a bespoke stainless-steel exhaust system.

Upon completion, the body was refinished in its original Irish Grün, while the interior was retrimmed in elegant beige leather, creating a sophisticated and period-appropriate combination. The entire restoration is documented through an extensive photographic archive comprising more than 400 images.

From late 2018, the car formed part of a private Porsche collection in Austria, where it was carefully preserved and sparingly used. It has covered only approximately 2,000 km since restoration.

Recently serviced, including fluid replacement, braking-system inspection and comprehensive mechanical checks, the car is presented in outstanding condition and is ready for immediate road use.

It is accompanied by its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, extensive restoration photographic book, restoration documentation and complete original toolkit.

With its rare SC Cabriolet specification, European-market provenance, original factory colour, matching-number body panels and comprehensively documented restoration, this 1965 Porsche 356 SC Cabriolet represents a particularly attractive proposition for the discerning collector.
