Historical The 1 1/5 series is an intermediate (and unofficial) series that was built in 1967 to meet US safety standards. It saw the progressive evolution (according to the exhaustion of the parts of the series 1) towards the series 2 with raised headlights and the inside of the series 2. The bumpers remained however identical to those of the series 1 An elongated 2 + 2 version is introduced at the request of the American market which allows the installation of a Borg warner three-speed automatic transmission. The models destined for California show two Stromberg carburetors to meet the emission standards of that State. The power is reduced from 265 hp to 170 hp on these models. descriptive This copy is of French origin and therefore kept all its power with its 3 SU carburettors to go to 265 HP which is not displeasing to us. The car is in exceptional condition at the level of its bodywork. The doors and the workers are well aligned and no appearance of rust in the nose box or inside of wings is to be seen on these known sensitive parts. The upholstery seems to be of origin and is well aged to wish that it gives him a small hidden English cosie; The dashboard and door panels are in excellent condition. The car is very pleasant to drive, the box does not catch, the clutch is operational, a little far for my taste, can adjust it according to the template of the future buyer, the braking is powerful and the car is perfectly on the road . The 265 Cv are there and it's always nice to see the couple that these European versions to make us enjoy. Our opinion A nice Jaguar at a reasonable price that will be, in the long term, the most requested models car their tariff access will be far from standard cut series 1.
