Few sports cars have shaped automotive history as profoundly as the Porsche 911. Introduced in 1963 as the successor to the legendary Porsche 356, the "Nine-Eleven" rapidly established itself as an icon of German sports car engineering. Its unmistakable silhouette, rear-mounted air-cooled flat-six engine and exceptional driving dynamics made it one of the most successful sports cars of all time. A particularly significant place within the model's history belongs to the Targa, introduced in 1967. The earliest Targa models featured a removable roof panel and the now legendary Soft Window rear screen, whose folding plastic window gave the car its unmistakable appearance. The example offered here was originally delivered new to the U.S. state of Oklahoma and is presented today in the classic combination of red coachwork with a black leather interior. This timeless sporting colour scheme perfectly complements the slim-bodied early F-Series design, with its delicate chrome trim and brushed stainless-steel Targa bar, all of which contribute to the unmistakable character of the early 911. Showing just 78,000 kilometres, this Porsche represents an authentic survivor from the first generation of the iconic model.

In 2023, the Targa roof and headlining were professionally renewed, and a new set of summer tyres was fitted. In 2025, the bodywork also received a premium Swissvax paint protection treatment, preserving both the exceptional finish and the long-term integrity of the paintwork. A Swiss Veteran Vehicle inspection completed in October 2022 further confirms the car's well-preserved and highly original condition.
The free-revving 2.0-litre air-cooled flat-six engine, producing 130 horsepower, is perfectly matched to the precise five-speed manual gearbox, delivering the engaging driving experience for which the early Porsche 911 became world famous. Its low kerb weight, direct steering and unmistakable soundtrack combine to create an experience that remains a benchmark among classic sports cars and defines the enduring appeal of the early 911.
