Lagonda 2 Litre ‘Low Chassis’, year 1932. Chassis (VIN) number OH9975, engine number 1724. UK registration number WH 4025. This Lagonda 2 Litre ‘Low Chassis’ is a very special and rare find; the automobile is in a super original condition, the car was never restored, and the FULL history (including list of owners) from the day it left the factory is known!

This ‘matching numbers’ car also shows its factory original colours. The chassis is finished in black, the Lagonda built open tourer bodywork finished in British Racing Green paint and vinyl, the interior upholstered with black leather and green wool carpet, and the weather equipment is made in black mohair cloth. The Lagonda bodywork (the wider T2 style concealing the chassis from the rear of the windscreen) was fabricated in house to the Weyman ‘flexible body’ principle which guaranteed a rattle free driving experience on bumpy roads.

The four cylinder engine featuring overhead valves and hemispherical combustion chamber wasn’t just a mechanical marvel, it was a statement of Lagonda’s intent to compete with the likes of Bentley and Alvis in the high-performance touring car segment. If you are into vintage engineering, this is a gem! The engine of this car was professionally uprated to 2.4 litre specifications offering more torque and hence a wider band of ‘elasticity’ driving in top gear. The works done to the engine are very well documented.

This was the only major work done to the car, other maintenance and repairs were done to keep the car mechanically and optically up to date and in top shape. The last and current owner has cherished this magnificent time capsule for 25 years. Now this brilliant piece of British motoring heritage is looking for her next custodian to take care of her for the decade(s) to come. A person who adds to the story with respect for her pedigree and originality.

The story of WH4025 will go on for at least another century, and you can be the author of a few pages or a whole chapter.
