Our 300 S Roadster has a unique, classically elegant appearance. It is in very good, original condition (Classic Data report grade 1.7) and has not lost its character despite restoration. The technology, which was far superior for the time, still functions perfectly and reliably today.
The Roadster is the most sought-after example of the 300 S series, as only 141 of them were built. The Coupé and Cabriolet were each built over 200 times. The car is German first delivery and was since 1991 in the same hand in a famous collection. Right at the beginning, the restoration was also carried out, including the paint and interior in elegant green.
Engine, transmission and body are matching numbers, in general the car has a very original condition.
A great companion for trips in bright sunshine.

History of the series
The Mercedes W 188 series was presented to the public at the Paris Motor Show in October 1951. The coupés, cabriolets and roadsters were derived from the W 186 series sedan and had a wheelbase that was 15 cm shorter than it. They were the last Daimler-Benz models to be built on a chassis.
With a total of 560 examples of the 300 S and 200 of the 300 Sc, the W 188 series is rarer than the 300 SL (W 198). Not for nothing was the W 188 over the entire construction period the most expensive model series of Mercedes.
In 1955, the model series was then revised and renamed the 300 Sc. Both versions, the 300 S and the 300 Sc, are among the most exclusive Mercedes-Benz passenger car models of the post-war period and today, along with the 300 SL, are particularly sought-after collectors' cars.
