1958 | Triumph TR 3A
Description
VRW 221 built in November 1957 at the Standard Triumph Competition Department in the Birmingham factory. First registered on the 01-01-1958 in preparation for the 1958 European Rally season. Believed to be the only surviving one of four “58” Monte-Carlo cars. Driven through the 58 season by John Waddington, Desmond Titterington, Ron Gouldborn and David Mackay. Best result came from Desmond Titterington and Brian McCaldin navigating at the Circuit of Ireland 2nd overall with Paddy Hopkirk taking first place in another TR3A. Continuous ownership with long term owner Martyn Noel King owning the car for nearly 40 years, who preserved the car and carefully restored it. Still with the original engine this beautifully presented Triumph would be welcome at many historic rallies and tours currently available worldwide. FIVA identity card still in-date, FIA HTP’s expired 2019.
