About the vehicle:
With its total of just 2,419 units manufactured, the W 112 coupé is already a rare phenomenon in itself. However, its manual transmission is a particular rarity in this vehicle. The majority of coupes were delivered as standard with the automatic transmission, which was often regarded as sluggish. However, the manual gearbox fitted here ex works allows a much zippier driving style and more selective acceleration due to its direct ratio. Another special feature of the W 112 is its air suspension. In addition to significantly greater comfort, this contributes above all to more direct steering, as the body of the car is sprung more tightly. Furthermore, this 300 SE coupe was equipped with a sunroof, as well as a Blaupunkt radio with automatic antenna. This 300 coupe was one of the last of its series to be delivered to Hanover, Germany, and then moved with one of the previous owners to California in the U.S., where it remained until re-imported by the current owner. The entire history is traceable and documented with additional invoices from 1993 onwards. During the maintenance work carried out, among other things, the engine was overhauled and the clutch overhauled, as well as all window seals renewed. The Copé has been driven less than 3,500 km since then. In addition to the original manual with manual mileage entries and the data card, there is a folder with invoices and extensive documentation of previous maintenance and restoration work. The coupe has an H-certificate. The MOT will be redone for the sale.
