In mid-1969, modern technology made its debut at Mercedes-Benz with the new SL series. Automatic transmission, disc brakes, petrol injection and air conditioning were all technical achievements that remain standard features to this day. As usual, the successful sports car underwent continuous further development. It began with the 230 SL, and from 1968 onwards, the 280 SL was delivered following the 250 SL. Even today, this refined variant remains the most sought-after. It was with this model that the automatic gearbox became the norm.
Our Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Roadster was originally delivered in Germany and has been in the same ownership for 20 years. It has had a total of five owners. There is no backlog of servicing; it has been regularly serviced at an excellent specialist workshop.
